My Views On The Stereotypes Of Children Who Go To The Library

Okay guys, first things first, stereotyping people is wrong and it can really hurt the feelings of others. Stereotyping also creates unnecessary stigmas and it divides groups of people that really don’t need to be divided. In other words, it creates conflict between people, and if there is one thing the world doesn’t need it’s more conflict. With that in mind, let me give you my thoughts about these stereotypes. Buckle in and enjoy the ride, I’m about to enlighten you!!!

Many children think that other kids that go to the library or kids that study and care about their grades are automatically weird. These children then proceed to call the other kids “Weirdos” or “Nerds” or “Geeks”. Many of the kids engaging in the name calling don’t give what they are doing a second thought. What they don’t realize is that their ignorance can cause so many problems in the future such as low self confidence and grades lowering routinely as kids start to question the importance of their quest for knowledge.

It is very important that we don’t allow others to stop us from doing positive things that we love, and it is even more important that we are not the ones discouraging others and causing pain and conflict where there could be love and harmony. Going to the library isn’t something that people should be punished or ridiculed for, in fact, we should praise each other for engaging in a positive quest for knowledge. While I am not saying that everything out there is for children I am saying that we should encourage others to be inquisitive and creative in positive things that are appropriate for their age level.

Encouragement, love, kindness, and support are things that we need more of in our world. It’s 2019 everyone, and I think that it’s about time that we start to exhibit these traits in an effort to change the world in a positive way. It’s crucial that everyone works together for the greater good, because every single one of us has something to bring to the table. If we don’t use our talents in positive ways we are not helping to make the world a better place for ourselves and for the next generation. For example, if Sally Ride hadn’t been brave enough to be the first female astronaut I doubt that we would have as many female astronauts as we have today, or if Mae Jemison hadn’t worked hard to become the first African American female astronaut we most likely wouldn’t have as many female African American astronauts today.

Girls, these ladies moved mountains and paved the way for others that came after them. These women achieved greatness and didn’t hold themselves back because of fear or stereotypes. In the same way we can all be successful if we abandon fear and combat stereotypes instead of falling victim to them.  I encourage all of you to keep this post in mind as you go on with your life and to encourage and inspire others.
