Hello Everyone! Today we as a society are dealing with a global crisis. Countries everywhere are shutting down. People are losing their jobs and children are staying home from school. I can understand the fear that we are all experiencing in this situation. Although it looks like nothing is going the way that it should, it is important that we try our best to remain positive. Yesterday, I created the picture of the astronaut that you see before you. I wanted to make sure that we were all remembering to give each other some space. As the image of our health officials telling us that we should maintain social distancing played in my mind, the idea for this picture presented itself.
Just looking at the picture, it might not seem like much. This art piece holds a much deeper meaning than what meets the eye. The play on words orchestrated between social distancing space and outer space was meant to be comical yet encouraging. This piece shows that in the midst of all of the fear and sadness there can also be joy and laughter. Our first responders work hard every day coming to work even when the danger associated with the job is grave. They do their best to save lives even when their own lives are in danger with the lack of PPE (personal protective equipment). At times like this we need to lean on each other for support, positivity, and encouragement. Every single one of us has the ability to use our words to spread happiness and laughter instead of fear and desperation.
I created this piece to show that even in what seems like the worst possible situation, we can still find the joy in what we have been asked to do. We have been tasked with remembering to give each other some space, and I am so glad that I was able to follow through. 🙂 As we all go through this time I encourage all of you to use your talents to uplift the spirits of others. When times are tough it is important that we all do our part to support each other. Have faith that you will make it through this time and that all of us will prevail.
With Faith,
Lilynator
